Kindergarten Parents
Welcome Welcome Welcome!
We're so happy you are here! Sending your little one off to Kindergarten can be overwhelming. It's a BIG step for everyone!
There is a lot of uncertainty for parents and kiddos alike, which is why we have created this page!
Below you will (hopefully) find all of the answers to your questions! Links to Facebook Pages, a Q&A (answered by a number of seasoned EES families), important contact information and dates to mark on your calendar!
EES is a small school LOVED by its community. You walk in the front doors and you have the nostalgic feeling of "home". Your name will be learned by staff and other parents, your kids will find joy in experiencing their first introduction to PAWS, the Building Building and The Jungle, and eventually you will be asked to jump in and volunteer with us! You might surprise yourself when you say, YES!
It takes a perfect storm of the best staff and most supportive parents to continue the legacy that is Erie Elementary School.

When is the first day of school?!
The first day of school for Kindergarten is Thursday August 19th. Our school hours are 9:05am-3:35pm. Students may arrive on campus at 8:45am. The first bell is at 8:55am and the late bell is at 9:05am.
Are there Kindergarten Assessments? What are Kindergarten assessments?
Each Kindergarten student will participate in an orientation hour on August 16th or 17th. This orientation will include basic literacy testing and a tour of the school. The testing in NO WAY determines whether your child can participate in Kindergarten. It simply gives EES staff an idea of where to start instruction with your child. You will receive an email in early August from Mrs Eker, indicating your day and time for orientation.
