Black History Month
Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African and Black Americans. A time for recognizing their central role in U.S. history and their contributions to improving our country. We also hope this is an opportunity for our community to learn more about the effects of racism and how to challenge negative stereotypes.
Our PTCO Equity Team has created the event calendar below to celebrate. Daily we provided links to a read aloud video for the "Book of the Day" (BOTD) and links to other activities you can do as family. Also, everyday you have a chance to win the BOTD. Just share your experiences of the read aloud and/or activity by emailing info@eesptco.com or commenting on the PTCO daily "Black History Month" Facebook post. Here is a complete list of the books.
We are excited to celebrate and learn Black history together. Although the ages of all EES students were considered in the book, activity and movie recommendations, please use your discretion, as guardians, on what is appropriate for your child. Thank you for joining the Erie Elementary School community on this journey!
