Black History Month
Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African and Black Americans. A time for recognizing their central role in U.S. history and their contributions to improving our country.
Our PTCO Equity Team has created the event calendar below to celebrate. For weekdays we provided links to a read aloud video for the "Book of the Day" (BOTD). The weekends are an opportunity to do a variety of other activities with your family and friends. Also, at the end of the month we will being giving away all the featured books, plus a couple of extras. To enter the drawing, share your favorite book along with your student's name and teacher to [email protected] or by commenting on the PTCO daily "Black History Month" Facebook post.
We are excited to celebrate and learn Black history together. Although the ages of all EES students were considered in the book, activity and movie recommendations, please use your discretion, as guardians, on what is appropriate for your child. Thank you for joining the Erie Elementary School community on this journey!
